Bush is a name the American people can easily relate to presidential elections. Jeb Bush, son of George H. W. Bush and brother of George W. Bush, ran in the 2016 presidential election on the Republican side just like both his father and brother. However, Jeb Bush withdrew his running in the presidential race after his unsatisfactory score at the South Carolina primary on February 20, 2016.
It was a decision that left many of Bush’s fans surprised and upset. The decision also gave benefits to the other runners, like Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. Some celebrated the relinquish of Bush because one less competitor, while other runners consistently complimented Bush with hopes that he would endorse them.
Bush decided to join the 2016 presidential election. Ever since Bush announced that he would be running in the election on June 15, 2015, his life was a rollercoaster. Bush and his many altercations with fellow presidential runner, Donald Trump, have been quite entertaining for the media, just not for Bush. With Donald attacking Jeb about his family and him stealing Bush’s website, Jeb Bush was having a very difficult time trying to maintain the discussion about his run for presidency.
Bush broke the news to a room full of voters at the South Carolina primary. Bush said, “The people of Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina have spoken, and I really respect their decision, so tonight, I am suspending my campaign.” The announcement resulted in cheers of support from the crowd.
Jeb Bush, the man who intentionally uses only “Jeb!” on his campaign posters, is out of the presidential race of 2016. As sad as Jeb looked when giving the news, he ended his speech on a happy note with thanking the American people.
