Students involved in the class participated in Rocket Restaurant where students made egg salad sandwiches, BLT’S and other good sandwiches. Orders were placed throughout the week from staff. When Friday came around, the students took time out of their 3rd period classes to prepare the meals.
Mr. Anthony Reda ordered from Rocket Restaurant and said the food was very tasty. “I got the club sandwich, and everything was great, from the mayo to the bacon. I am eagerly looking forward to the next Rocket Restaurant.”
Bretten Cole, a sophomore here at Northeast had some words to say. “I enjoyed everything about the Food Prep and Presentation class. I’ve been cooking for 7 years, and it is definitely my passion.” Students like junior Tyler Renshaw enjoyed making items for his teachers. “I think it’s really fun making stuff for people, It’s a little bit of extra pressure when you have to get it ready quickly,” junior Lexi Perry added “but it was fun.”
Jenna Hilligoss, the Food Prep and Presentation teacher, told LPS that the students made her very proud. “They recognize the teachers, and they are able to do something for them. Instead of just a student and teacher relationship, it’s more of a working relationship that they are offering something to their teachers.”
