When you walk through the USA Main Street in Disneyland, the mouthwatering aroma floating in the air from the bakery hits your nostrils. Then you turn your head and see the castle; it genuinely feels like you’re in a fairytale. All of a sudden nothing matters anymore, the bad things that have happened to you during the week, the stress that has been cluttering up inside you, the weight on your shoulders. The sky turned from grey to blue, and all you can see are happy, blissful faces everywhere. This is the only place that seems right to you when everything goes wrong because this is the happiest and most magical place on earth.
Hong Kong Disneyland is a special place. Its most distinctive feature is probably its size. It is undeniably the smallest disneyland in the world; however, it is not a bad thing at all. First, you don’t need to take half an hour to walk from one attraction to the other. This is very convenient if you only have one day in the park and try to go to as many rides as possible. If you are lucky, there will only be three to four rides you are not able to go to in a day, as oppose to most Disneylands.
Second, food is always around the corner. Whether you are craving a sweet cinnamon taste of the churro, or a heavy, satisfying meal. Even when you’re extremely thirsty, a slushie is always there to help you beat the heat and quench your thirst. This way, you won’t be “hangry”(so hungry that you’re angry) all the time, and instead, fueled up with energy to go to the next rollercoaster.
If you go to Hong Kong Disneyland during Chinese New Year(around January to February), you will be able to feel both the Chinese and Western culture in the atmosphere. You can share hugs, snap pictures and receive autographs alongside Disney Characters in Chinese New Year costumes. Savor a special menu of authentic Chinese delicacies and finger-licking flavors to satisfy even the pickiest of palates. Last but definitely not least, you can commemorate the magic of your trip with a special gift item to ensure the memories last beyond the new year.
Hong Kong Disneyland is also very close to the Hong Kong International Airport, simply take the MTR ( Mass Transit Railway) from the Airport station to the Disneyland Resort station ( two stops only). So if you are ever in Hong Kong, you can make a quick stop at this magical place and reunite with your favorite disney characters.
