Working together is the best thing for a team to do. At Lincoln Northeast the volleyball players work together to get the big W. Coming together is the just the beginning for these girls. From the time that they place their shoes on that gym floor to the time they leave to go home they are always a team, no matter win or lose.
Each volleyball player connected their personal lives to this sport. According to Health Fitness Revolution volleyball has many health benefits, but it also has a very great impact on first hand problems that everyone struggles with on a daily basis. One of the most important is that it boosts your mood and drives you to succeed. I asked if volleyball helps our volleyball girls with their school work. The answers I received back were that it sometimes stresses them out and they get home late, so they don’t have much time to study or get homework done. But they also said that it was pushing them to have good grades because they love the game, and without good grades they can’t participate. They also said that playing helps them stay in shape, become more involved, and be less shy. The one response that they all wrote down was that it helped them relieve stress, and it keeps them happier. Being able to hit the volleyball is the best way for a volleyball player if they are trying to get things off of their mind and let things go. When you use all of your power to hit the ball you tend to forget about all of your stress.
Working hard is just a small part of getting something done. You have to have others to rely on, to help you even if you want to be independent. Being a team is a road you can take that makes you not only friends but family. Girls at LNE that participate in volleyball became a team and work together for goals that they all want. Accomplish something that is special to your heart, but also share it with someone that will love it as much as you do.
