If you had 10.7 billion dollars, what would you do with it? With such an abundance of money, there are endless possibilities. For Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker, the founders of Starbucks, this is a yearly earning. Coffee has become a huge staple of society. The “common white girl” is always seen with a Starbucks cup in hand, usually a pumpkin spice latte, if in season.
According to Business Insider, the average Starbucks customer visits a store six times a month while 20% of them visit more than sixteen times a month. At about four dollars a cup, an average customer spends 24 dollars a month and 288 dollars a year on coffee. While their most loyal customers spend 64 dollars a month and 768 dollars a year.
With over 87,000 different combinations, it would not be hard to visit at least once a month. On Thrillest.com an editor took the liberty to try over 50 of Starbucks drinks and rank them. Four out of her top five were Starbucks signature frappuccinos. Her number one came in as the basic, coffee frappuccino. Second, was my personal favorite, the double-chocolaty chip frappuccino, putting it just over the third place winner, mocha frappuccino. The addition of the chocolate chips put it over the top. Fourth on the list was the flat white, described as a glass of warm milk with coffee flavoring in it. Java Chip Frappuccino comes in at fifth. This is exactly the same as the double-chocolaty chip but includes actual coffee.
I love the caramel macchiato as much as the next girl, but sometimes getting the same thing over and over gets boring. That’s why the “secret menu” was created. There is even a webpage dedicated solely to it. Starbuckssecretmenu.net has hundreds of different drinks to try out. There are different pages for frappuccinos, drinks, tea, lattes, refreshers, and macchiatos.
One of my personal favorites from this list was the “Snowball Frappuccino”. It is a White Chocolate Creme Frappuccino with toffee nut syrup (1 pump tall, 1.5 grande, 2 venti) and hazelnut syrup (1 pump tall, 1.5 grande, 2 venti). During the holiday seasons you can top it with caramel brulée topping.
Whether you like the originals or an item from their secret menu, there is something at Starbucks for everyone.
