On Tuesday, an 18-year-old from South Florida was arrested after being accused of practicing medicine without a license. Fox News reports, “Malachi Love-Robinson, 18, was arrested after he allegedly performed an examination on an undercover agent and offered medical advice.” He tried to set up a fake medical practice and attempted to pass himself off as having a Ph.D. Love-Robinson was released from jail Wednesday on a 21,000 bond, with charges of practicing medicine without a license, fraud and grand theft.
Love-Robinson claimed to operate a medical office in West Palm Beach, called New Birth New Life Holistic and Alternative Medical Center & Urgent Care, where he said he was a highly educated doctor of psychology. Love-Robinson had also been investigated at least two times in the past. In January 2015, he allegedly obtained a doctor’s coat and roamed the halls of a hospital. However, he never faced charges because it was determined that there was no evidence of him entering patients’ rooms and/or practicing medical procedures. This past October, he was caught operating another fake medical practice in a different part of Florida. Along with facing these criminal charges, the Florida state department of health is fining Love-Robinson 4,000 in department rule violations.
