Since planners are no longer distributed to students, a new system is in place. Hallway passes are in the classroom. They vary in color according to what floor you are on, purple for the 3rd floor, green for the 2nd floor, 1st is orange, and the basement is pink.
Not only does the school save paper and money by not printing the planners, but it makes sure that when someone is on the wrong floor and is noticed by staff, they can bring that student to the right floor.
The passes are only for drinks and restroom breaks. If you need to go somewhere other than the restroom or drink, the teacher needs to fill out a separate pass that the teachers have and the colors of those also effects on where you’re allowed to go. With this you can go to different floors.
There’s good and bad to this. Having these passes in class can limit who goes at a time and where the kids can go, but it can be annoying some times when having to keep getting new passes for each place you have to go, and you can’t just keep it all in your planner.
This is the first year of doing this so we will have to find out and see if it all works best.
