Lincoln Northeast High School recently held its spring pep rally, bringing students and staff together to celebrate school spirit, history and community. The annual event is a tradition at LNE and gives students a chance to show pride in their school.
Pep rallies have been part of school culture for many years. They were originally created to celebrate big sport games and build excitement between rival schools. OVer time, they became more than just a sports celebration. Today, they help bring students together and create memories that last beyond high school.
Principal Liz Miller shared her thoughts on this year’s event. “This is my first spring pep rally here, and I feel excited to see the energy and school pride from our students,” Miller said. “Pep rallies are important because they connect us to our school’s history and bring everyone together as one community”
Associate Principal Adan Martinez explained what the pep rally means for students and staff. “Pep rallies give students a break from class to celebrate their hard work and support our activities,” Martinez said. “This year, we expect strong participation from the student section and positive energy from everyone involved”
Many students also look forward to the event each year. Leo Wilson, an 11th grader shared his opinion about this year’s rally compared to others. “This is my third year going to pep rallies, and this one feels more organized and hyped than before,” Wilson said. “It’s cool to see everyone dressed up and showing school pride.”
The pep rally included games, performances. And recognition of different sports and activities. Staff members also participated in activities to keep students engaged and entertained. Events like this help students feel more connected to their classmate and teachers.
At Northeast, this spring pep rally continues to be a tradition that celebrates both past and future of the school activities. With celebrating the history of pep rally, our 2025-2026 year will also be in our LNE books and will also be in school history.
