1. They can be crispy and fluffy at the same time. Pancakes are mostly, if not entirely, fluffy. That is good to an extent. But waffles have the best of both worlds.
2. They work with savory. Waffles taste incredible as the foundation in an egg and bacon sandwich, along with waffle tacos. Let’s see pancakes attempt savory. On second thought, we’re better off without…
3. They also dominate dessert. Not only are waffles visually appealing with ice cream, but they taste out of this world together. Ice cream in waffle cones or ice cream on waffles– either way, ice cream and waffles are the dynamic duo.
4. Chicken and Waffles. Whether it’s chicken tenders, chicken legs, or chicken wings, waffles pair up perfectly with them. It seems like God invented waffles to go with everything…the list could go on for miles.
5. Square ponds. The squares built into waffles are like tiny ponds made just for syrup, butter, fruit, and all other amazing foods. With pancakes, the syrup just miserably slides down the sides and forms its own pool around the disgraceful disk.
6. Grid texture. The grid-like texture helps people to proportionally cut the waffle into bite size pieces.
7. Frozen waffles. Frozen waffles top frozen pancakes. There’s no argument here. It’s a fact, backed by scientific proof…trust me, I know.
8. Portability. Waffles are crispy enough to take with you on the go. With pancakes, they fold over like the sad disaster they are.
